My hiking blog with take you along with me as I hike the easy to the extreme and everything in between. You'll feel the aching muscles and share the frustrations as Mother Nature throws her best challenges in the way. On the flip side, you will also understand the draw, the majesty, the incredible vistas the wilderness has to offer. From the tiny little flower to the towering peak, our wilderness will share it all.
I currently categorize my hiking blog posts into three main categories. You can click the links to see my posts within that category.
DAY HIKES are comprised of any hike, urban or remote, that I do in one day. They are typically "close to home" and allow me to get out in the wild even during the rainy and snowy months of Fall, Winter and Spring.
BACKPACKS are any hiking trips when I go on a hike with a fully loaded backpack and spend at least one night out in the wild. My window for backpacking is limited to summer months when the weather is most favorable here in the northwest. My "end of season" backpack event is my Birthday Backpack which falls at the end of September.
HIKING TIPS is a newer category and I only have a couple of short posts in it. These range in topics and are typically generated from questions I've received from others.
